Lately I have wanted all of my food with onion strings on top. We recently tried Smash Burger for the first time and I got the burger with onion strings on top, and a side for good measure! 🙂 It was really good!
Sunday I found myself not sure of what we would have for dinner so I opened my freezer to see the possibilities. I saw a pork roast and some frozen Rhodes roll dough and started coming up with a plan!
BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches with Fried Onion Strings
Ingredients for sandwiches:
- Rolls
- Pork Roast
- Favorite BBQ Sauce (We love Sweet Baby Rays, in different flavors)
Directions:
- Cook pork roast in slow cooker on low for 5-6 hours (I normally would add sauce while it cooks, but this time I decided to cook it plain.
- Shred pork and serve.
To assemble the sandwiches we placed the desired about of pork on each roll (which I had just made, yummmm) and then we each chose the sauce we wanted. I like Sweet & Spicy but my daughter prefers Maple and Brown Sugar. By not adding sauce to the slow cooker we were each able to personalize the sandwich by putting our favorite sauce on our individual sandwiches! We’ve never done this before, we all loved it and think from now on this is the way to go!
