#LetsMakeSmores-Bar

As a kick off to summer we decided to have some friends over for a S’more Bar. It’s been a cool (temperature) beginning of summer so having a fire in our fire pit and making our favorite summer treat was a fun idea. Since we did this over Memorial Day weekend we decided to go with a patriotic theme for the S’more Bar.

Walmart-Smores
After a quick visit to the S’more display at Walmart, conveniently located with all the summer seasonal items, I was all set with the traditional ingredients. I like to experiment around with things, so in addition to the traditional Herhsey’s chocolate, Honey Maid graham crackers and the Jet Puffed marshmallows, I also bought some Hershey’s Symphony bars with almonds and toffee and some Hershey’s Caramel Topping. Also, in case people wanted to get really crazy I made Chocolate Chip Cookies and Brownies for them to put inside their S’mores. Now to set up the table in a cute, festive way.

Smore-Ingredients
I wanted my table to be festive for my guests so I decided to make a #LetsMakeSmores star banner. You can print and cut out that banner here. My banner says #LetsMakeSmores to go with my theme, but you can just print and cut the stars if that works with your theme.

Once the banner was made my table started coming together piece by piece. I wanted the components at different heights, I made labels for each of the items (that you can print, click the link) and decorated the table with paper stars and glittery stars. I dyed rice blue and red and layered it in cookie jars to hold up the banner. I found patriotic pinwheels that I thought would be fun for the kids at the get together. We had everything we needed for a tasty good time.

While most people stuck to traditional S’mores, I love caramel and feel like toffee is a nice compliment, so I made Toffee Caramel S’mores. Cook your marshmallow like normal then build it like so:

Caramel-Toffee-Smores

  • graham cracker
  • Hershey’s Symphony Almond and Toffee chocolate bar
  • marshmallow
  • caramel drizzle
  • Hershey’s chocolate bar
  • graham cracker to top it off

YUM! Double the chocolate with a little bit of gooey goodness. It was a fun experiment but I think I prefer the tradition S’mores better.

Whether you are roasting marshmallows over an open fire, cooking them over the stove in your kitchen or even in the microwave, enjoying S’mores with friends and family is a fun summer tradition.

What is your favorite way to enjoy a S’more? Do you enjoy adding extra ingredients?

What a cute s’mores table! I love adding additional toppings to my s’mores, but nothing really beats the tradition one.

Wow!! You did an exceptional job on your snores bar. And adding toffee and caramel, oh my goodness, I could devour them as I write this.
