7 Ways to Save Money Using Duct Tape

7Ways-Save-Money-Duct-Tape
Duct tape is one of those items that are completely essential to everyday living. If you don’t have a roll of duct tape lying around your house, you may want to consider grabbing a few rolls. I’ve noticed that duct tape has helped us to save money over the years.

Check out these seven ways you can use duct tape to start saving money.

#1. Lint Roller

If you have pets or go through lint rollers rather quickly, you might want to consider using duct tape. It’s considerably cheaper than the sticky lint strips and it does a pretty good job. Even if you don’t have pets and have a bunch of lint stuck to your clothing, duct tape works magic.

#2. Seal Cracks

Although it’s questionable how long duct tape can seal a hole, it can help you save money in a pinch. If you have a hole in a pipe and water’s leaking, duct tape can help seal the hole until you can get it fixed. Even if you have a hole in a trash can, a strip of duct tape can help seal it right up!

#3. Organization

Organizational tools are expensive! You can use duct tape to help organize items within your home to help save money. Duct tape boxes to make them stronger, so you can store heavier items. You can also duct tape items together to help store items out of the way, such as cords.

#4. Repair Items Around the House

There are always tons of items around the house that need repaired. If your screen breaks on your door, you can use duct tape to repair it. Holes in your siding, tools breaking apart, and anything else that breaks, you can use duct tape to help mend the broken pieces. You can go as far as repairing a roof shingle with duct tape, if you dare.

#5. Waterproofing

If you find that something in your home needs waterproofing, duct tape is the perfect tool. If your shoes have a hole or the swimming pool gets a snag, whip out that duct tape.

#6. Band-Aids

Having a non-life threatening medical issue can call for the use of duct tape. Keeping a roll of duct tape on hand is a lot cheaper than trying to keep track of a small box of Band-Aids. You’ll want to put a cotton ball in between the duct tape and the cut to prevent the tape from sticking to the skin. You can also use duct tape to wrap an ankle or a wrist, until medical attention can be completed.

#7. Reinforcement

Things break all the time and sometimes all you need is a little reinforcement. Adding duct tape to the piece of wood or plastic that needs reinforced is a great way to save money and add life to a product! Perhaps a chair in your kitchen just needs a little duct tape TLC?

Using duct tape should be used with discretion, however, it’s a great money saving tool to keep around the home. Also, check out these 10 other ways to use Duct Tape.
