5 Best Buy Gift Ideas for the Family This Christmas

December 19, 2012 By Stefanie

With Christmas time practically here, I reckoned that this is an excellent time to think about some last minute gift ideas and gadgets.  I’ve taken these from the Best Buy store as they have a very large range in stock and are still shipping even with a few days to go.  They tend to have a diverse range of home appliances and technology options which you can purchase making it very simple to find something to match all the people in your family.  If you are stuck for ideas then here’s some of the very best 5 gifts.

For Father – Garmin Nuvi 40LM GPS Sat Nav Navigator

This can be a great gift for the father of the family, particularly if he does a lot of driving (and has a habit of getting lost!).  This new GPS navigation device from Garmin includes lifetime maps.  This means he will not have to ever pay for map updates or risk becoming lost again whilst on the road.  Garmin are actually the world’s best when it comes to in-vehicle GPS navigation and that really shows when you see how many features the Nuvi comes with – it’s simple to use interface and straightforward operation means he probably won’t even need to read the instructions – as usual!

For Mother – An Amazon Kindle Fire with of 8GB Memory

If you mother likes to read books then the Amazon Kindle Fire might just be the perfect present this year.  Forget getting her lots of heavy paper-version books which occupy lots of space – but rather get one of these so she can read electronically.  The brand new Amazon Kindle Fire from Best Buy is almost twice as fast as the standard Kindle models in addition to being thin and incredibly portable.  It isn’t simply books that she can read on it though – the Kindle also allows the consumer to download television shows and music files, and many different types of multimedia being supported.

For Teenage Boy – Nintendo 3DS XL

We all know that most teenage boys love to play computer games.  They can now do this whilst out and about away from home with the excellent new console from Nintendo.  The 3DS XL model at Best Buy comes with 3D functionality plus with a bigger screen than the 3DS models that were released 2 years ago – and he won’t even need three dimensional glasses to use the console which is quite amazing!  You can save up to 30% off this present today if you use a Best Buy Promotional code – details in the author section at the bottom of this guide.

For Teenage Girl – Philips Noisy Alarm Clock Radio with iPod Docking

Teens are infamously difficult at getting up in the mornings. However, that’s set to change with this awesome alarm clock.  The very best aspect about it though is not the alarm function but the ability to place an iPod system into it as it’s a great docking station as well as a clock.  You can also use it with an iPhone as well so you don’t need to buy an iPod if she does not have one.  However, be warned as it ten watt speaker might just awaken the whole of the family every morning – not just her!

For Young Children – LeapFrog LeapPad Explorer

If education is essential for you and your child (and that I don’t think you will find any parents which may reply within the negative here!) then the LeapPad is one of the best buys you can make this Christmas time.  It’s an interactive learning tablet for kids who are aged three to nine.  This latest version comes filled with fun features and tasks including multimedia applications, a camera, spelling and maths subjects, and interactive games that are designed to help progress your child’s intelligence.  The LeapFrog LeapPad is built to last and will withstand some very rough play which means this Christmas present can last for any good couple of years yet.
