How to Make a Candy Lei

There are plenty of occasions where you might have a lot of leftover candy in your house. After Halloween is especially a time when there are lots of little candy bars laying around. You may not want your kids to just have at all the candy, so pack some away for a later time. One fun use for leftover candy is to make a candy lei. When I was growing up we would get candy lei's for our birthday, graduation or other fun celebrations. I love to make them and it's always well received because who … [Read more...]

Easter Egg Nest Cupcakes with HERSHEY’S

Easter, cupcakes, chocolate, candy

Easter is one of my favorite Holidays. In our home we are very religious, so celebrating the meaning of Easter is a special time. I love teaching my kids about the Resurrection of Christ and what that means for us. We are also very careful to make sure the real meaning of Easter is more prevalent than the fun candy celebrations. BUT we do like to have fun, especially since there is so much yummy Easter candy to enjoy and so many cute ideas of what to do with it. I wanted to share a couple of the … [Read more...]

Time to Make the Gingerbread House! Psych!

Every year at Christmas, we make a gingerbread house. This year, when I bought our kit, I was rushing. 2 weeks later, when I pulled it from the cabinet for the kids to work on it, I figured out it wasn't gingerbread! It was chocolate! At first, I was disappointed, but really, it was SO much better! Sometimes the fact that I'm an airhead works out to my advantage! So in this kit, it gives you the milk chocolate to melt and then you pour it into the molds to make the sides and roof. Then you … [Read more...]

Cute Thanksgiving Treat!

My preschooler and her classmates take turns bringing the snack to school. She just happened to be assigned the last day before Thanksgiving break, so we decided to make something festive. Now, normally we take something healthy- so don't judge me!! I saw several versions of this treat, but decided the others were more intensive than necessary (drawing with icing, etc) and they all added more cookies and candy while using frosting as the "glue".  I just can't feed my kids that much sugar!! And I … [Read more...]
